Astoria, Oregon - day 0

Today was day "0" - a day of putting bikes together and orientation, getting our bearings, learning about routines, rules of the road and meeting our fellow riders. 55 in all, 50 of whom are going all the way across. It was also a day to ride to the coast and dip our wheel and touch our toes in the Pacific. It was drizzling and cool and that added to the atmosphere. We saw an eagle in a pine tree just as we started out. We count it as a sign of good luck. Mimi was the photographer today, and since she had trouble getting online we'll post those photos another day. Other than that one small Internet glitch it was a good day! Miles: 30 Elevation gain: 0

    1. The link for the map works if you copy it into your browser. It will be the same link for the whole journey. If I can figure out how to make it a link in this blog, I will let you know.
